Experience is the most valuable quality I have to offer clients. Life, education and clinical experience have resulted in my being a very well rounded clinician with a depth and breadth of knowledge that cannot be produced without experience. I have been working for more than 30 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family therapist conducting individual, couples, and family therapy. My experience has been with all ages of clients from many different cultures who were struggling with a variety of problems. My educational process is ongoing.

Therapy is an investment in oneself. Therapy is growth. I facilitate my clients process with authentic empathy and understanding by asking reflective questions that lead to the client’s development of increased self-awareness and understanding. Clients discover their strengths and improve self-esteem as they discover the best personal solutions for their issues.  My preferred style of work is an integration of humanistic, collaborative, emotionally focused, cognitive/behavioral and narrative therapy.  I am adept at using the DBT and ACT approaches.

In my work with people of all ages from various cultures, I have seen that many people have unrealistic negative perceptions of themselves, when in fact they are stronger, more intelligent, capable, creative and resilient than they know. I help people identify the strengths they have to build the relationships and lives they want to have. My naturally optimistic nature, based in reality, continues to be renewed as I see the strengths of the people I work with grow.

As a humanistic clinician I deeply believe in the individual’s ability to heal and grow stronger through good therapy. Photo of Anne D ReamThe strength and integrity of my value system are the basis of my approach as a counselor. I facilitate sessions with authentic respect for clients, always using the ethical standards of my profession. My mission is to facilitate holistic growth, health and balance in individuals and their relationships.
